What to expect as a COHS student:
- Finish program with in the 18-month scholarship period.
- Some high school credits can be transferred (request transcripts from previous school, if available). There may be a small fee. This will be the only out-of-pocket cost for our students.
- Your personal academic coach (assigned by the school) will support you and guide you though the process.
- Coursework is available 24/7: expect to study a minumum of 8-10 hoursa week
Eligible to apply for scholarship:
* Must live in Okaloosa County
* Age 19 and up
* Must have a current library card at a Cooperative member library
* Does not have a high school diploma or GED
Not every applicant receives a scholarship.
* Applicant submits online interest survey
* Library emails instructions for prerequisite class
* Applicant creates online account and completes prerequisite class within 2 weeks
* Library contacts successful applicants to schedule in-person interview
* In-person interview at the Niceville Library
* Library notifies applicant within 2-4 weeks of interview
* Scholarship recipients enroll in the full program

*Prepares students to pursue the industry credential.
The first 4 weeks are a probationary period.
Students are required to work frequently and make steady progress.
Build a sustainable study routine: Show that motivation and time management.
During your probation period:
- The school will assign an academic coach
- Student requests high school transcripts to be sent directly to the school
- Student meets achievement deadlines to lock-in scholarship
Keep your scholarship:
- Log in and complete 1st assignment within 3 days of start date
- Finish a minimum of 4 assignments every week
- Finish first class within 14 days of start date
- Finish your second class within 28 days of start date
- Respond to contacts from your COHS coach and the library team (Vicky & Dorothee)
Your scholarship will be WITHDRAWN if you do not meet the requirements.
Is this the right time ?
Students may withdraw from the program in the first 3 weeks of their probation period and remain eligible for a scholarship in the future. Notify us within the first 21 days.
Returning the scholarship allows another person to enter the program.
